Homemade burgers (bread rolls) - Kotona tehdyt hampurilaiset (sämpylät)
(about 1,50€ + filling)

For the meat patties, just use the meatball-recipe and mold the mix into patties!

Here’s a simple recipe for bread rolls:
3 dl milk (maito) OR water
25 g yeast (hiiva) OR 1 sachet of dry yeast (kuivahiiva)
1 tsp salt (suola)
1 tsp sugar (sokeri)
7 dl wheat flour (vehnäjauho)
60 g butter (voi) OR 60 g margarin (margariini) OR 4,5 dl cooking oil (rypsiöljy)

1. Heat the milk / water up until about body temperature (little warmer if you use dry yeast).
2. Stir the yeast and sugar into the liquid.
3. Add the flour in small batches and carefully mix in.
4. Warm the butter until soft and add it in the dough.
5. Keep on kneading the dough until it doesn’t stick to the bowl (you can add some flour too if it’s too sticky / liquid if it’s too stiff).
6. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel (or any piece of fabric really) and let the dough rise in a warm place (e.g. fill your kitchen sink with hot water and place the bowl there) until it’s doubled its size.
7. Put some flour onto your tabletop and dip the dough on it. Knead and mold the dough into same size bread rolls.
8. Place the bread rolls on a baking tray, cover them with a kitchen towel and let them rise again on top of your stove.
9. Bake in 250 degrees for 10-15 min.

Cut the rolls in half, place your minced meat patties and whatever else you feel like inside them (cheese, tomato, lettuce, bacon, mayonnaise, ketchup etc.) and ENJOY!!

TIPS! Sprinkle some water on top of your rolls just before putting them into the oven to get a nice crust! Also, if you want your rolls to be healthier, replace some of the wheat flour with oats (puurohiutaleet) and / or sprinkle some seeds on top of them (or add 1 dl on the dough)!
